Splitting your cards is a strategy done when a player has two of the same cards, i.e., two 8s, two 7s, or two 5s. Doubling is also another strategy wherein a player doubles their bet but will only receive one card and not anything more. Bets like this are high risk and high reward.
Where Blackjack Players Choice differs in the grand scheme of the game is that, as the name suggests, players will have a choice in which hand to play. After the bet is placed, five sets of two-card blackjack hands will be placed face down. The card values will be displayed on your screen, but they will be in a random order, so players will not know the value of a specific hand. If there is a soft hand (Ace with a value of 11), the value will be shown with an asterisk symbol.
Players will then have to decide which of the five hands to reveal the top card only. At this moment, the player can decide to keep or discard it. The next choice will be the final choice out of the remaining hands. The player will then need to consider the possible values and try to guess the total value of their hand based on the face-up card. The dealer’s top card then gets revealed, and the game proceeds like a regular blackjack game.
Blackjack Players Choice is played with eight 52-card decks, which are shuffled before each game. While playing Blackjack Players Choice, the dealer will stand on all hands with a value of 17. In the event of a tie, half of a player’s bet is returned to them. Surrender and insurance are not part of the Blackjack Players Choice game.
